Common Enquiries


Q: Is it possible to order tile samples?


A: Yes, you can order a sample of any tile item from our tile samples section. There is a chargeable fee of £6.00 if you choose our 'express samples' delivery. However we will pay the postage & packaging to get them to you for FREE with our standard service taking 3-4 working days.


Q: If I supply my measurements can you calculate the tile area for my project?


A: Of course, please feel free to get in contact with us by phone: 0845 0766 166 or email: info@uktilesales.co.uk we can assist you with your calculations or any other enquiry you may have. Also you could use our tile calculator.


Q: The stated tile sizes are they correct?


A: The listed sizes that are stated are the manufactured specifications and they are nominal. Due to the tile manufacturing process and nature the of tiles, the precise dimensions cannot be manufactured consistently and this can result in different batches of the same tile fluctuating in size, sometimes as much as 2mm, which is a universally accepted forbearance within the industry.


Q: I have chosen to tile another area and would like to order some more, is this possible?


A: Yes, please note if you return to us with your original details including the batch and tile reference numbers, we can be more successful in matching your original order more accurately. If it has been some time we will still endeavor to help as best as we can but colour can vary over time. Different batches can produce different shades and sizes.

Q: Do you have a showroom?... Can I collect?


A: Yes, our sister company Euxton Tiles has a huge showroom in Chorley. You are able to visit these and pay for goods over the counter and either take the items away with you or arrange a delivery for a later date. Euxton Tile Supplies Ltd, Wigan Rd, Euxton, Nr Chorley, Lancashire. PR7 6JG. The opening times are - Monday to Friday 8.00am to 5.00pm and Saturday 8.30am to 5.00pm.



Q: Can I tile onto a wooden floor?


A: Yes, please see our Fixing guide for advice and details.


Q: What are Porcelain tiles?


A: These tiles are made from extremely pure materials and are fired at a very high temperature, which gives a fully vitrified (Glass like) body. A typical porcelain tile is made from 50% Feldspar (an abundant rock-forming mineral typically occurring as colorless or pale-colored crystals and consisting of aluminosilicates of potassium, sodium, and calcium), 30-40% white clay, up to 15% Kaolin (soft white clay) and up to 15% quartz and other fusible materials. The result is a dense, strong tile with a superior performance compared to normal ceramic tiles, including durability, abrasion, frost and chemical resistance and virtually impervious to water.


Q: How do you cut strong/thick items, like Porcelain, Granite and Marble tiles?


A: These products need to be cut with a suitable wet wheel cutter and diamond sawn blade. Please visit our extensive range of Tiling & Trims, to view the vast range of products that we have available.

Ordering Enquires


Q: Can I order single tiles or do I have to purchase complete boxes?


A: You are welcome to purchase whatever quantity you require. Different products may be priced in various ways, for example; Per Tile, Per Sheet, Per SQM, Per Pack or Per Pallet. All prices are stated next to the tile image, for every product on our website.


Q: What if I need to amend / make additions to my order?


A: If the order has not been despatched we will be able to add directly to your order. Please ensure that you have ordered the correct amount of tiles you require, any late additions may be subject to carriage costs depending weights and quantities. Each request will be looked at on an individual basis.


Q: Can I cancel an order once it has been placed?


A: Yes, you can cancel an order once it has been placed. Charges may apply if the order has already been despatched. Please see our Terms & Conditions for more details.


Q: Can I place an order over the telephone?


A: Yes, please call our experienced Sales Team, on 0845 0766 166, to place an order over the telephone.


Payment Enquiries


Q: What payment types do you accept?


A: We accept most major debit or credit cards, including Visa Credit and Debit cards and Mastercard over the telephone. Payments can also be accepted over the internet through Paypal.


Q: Are receipts including VAT receipts sent with the delivery?


A: We will send your picking details with your order, to confirm the items you receive. Order confirmation will be emailed to you upon payment, with a copy of your VAT receipt. If you require another copy, please contact us via the various options available.

Delivery Enquiries


Q: Are your tile all in stock?...How long will it take to be delivered?


A: All of the tiles displayed on the website are carried in stock and can be despatched for delivery in 1-2 working days. Special order items and imported products may take approximately 2-3 weeks.


Q: Where can you deliver to, How much does it cost?


A: We deliver directly all over the mainland UK, with our standard express delivery taking 3/4 working days. Please view our Delivery Information page for further details.


Q: Will I have to sign for my delivery?


A: This is our preference however it is not a prerequisite.


Q: Can ship your goods overseas?


A: Unfortunately no, we do not offer overseas delivery. If you are not based in the mainland UK, please contact us, for more information.


Will all the tiles delivered be from the same batch?


We will always try and send tiles out from the same batch, however, this is not always practical or possible. It is recommended for any tiling situation, that you do not fix from one pack at a time but from a selection on 3 or 4 packs, to avoid any potential batch shading problems.


What if my tiles are broken or the order is incorrect?


All damages and irregularities must be notified within 2 working days of the delivery. The exact amount missing or damaged must be notified in writing and replacements will be sent out. It will be deemed acceptable that 1 or 2 tiles may be broken, due to the nature of the goods. In this instance we would recommend that you try to use these, where cutting is necessary. If you still require 1 or 2 tiles to complete the job, we will send out the replacements on the assumption the original notification was given within the timescale above.

Returns Enquiries


What is your returns policy?


Due to the cost of haulage and the increased risk of damage to the tiles, UK Tile Sales offers a return policy, where charges will apply. For more information, please read our Terms & Conditions.


The tiles have arrived and they are not what I expected?


If you have ordered tile samples, we will obviously carry out checks to ensure you have had the correct order / correct tiles picked etc and ask you to supply the sample tile or an image of it next to what has been delivered. This will help us work out what has happened and help us to resolve the situation. If samples have not been ordered, UK Tile Sales cannot be held responsible for any discrepancies between the tiles ordered and the images / products on screen. Customers in this situation may be liable for the delivery and return costs involved.


Can I send left over tiles back?


We are able to take returns - This is provided that it is within 1 calendar month of purchase and that we receive them in good condition. This applies to stock items only. For further details, please see our Terms & Conditions.
